Tribunj
Tiny Tribunj (around 2,000 people) is a gem of a town and harbor on a small peninsula, 4 km west of Vodice. What brings tourists are its charming old town, perched on its own tiny oval island and connected to the mainland by a small stone bridge and dates back to the 16th century. Although it’s still a very traditional fishing village (yummy fish, just wait for the boats to come in!) and a magical place for those love boating, it’s close enough to two terrific national parks, Krka and Kornati, to also thrill nature lovers. The tourist office, post office, and restaurants are all within a short walk of the bridge. Vodice is a lovely 40 minute walk away along a nice beach linking Tribunj and Vodice. Sovlje, with its secluded beach is just a 5 minute drive away. In the old town there are also ruins of a medieval fortress and the church of St. Nicholas from 1452. Another medieval church is to the east of the town. Tribunj also has some interesting ancient walls dating back to Venetian rule that have been preserved.
